Child Safety

Making our products safer for homes with infants and young children is our top priority. We have a number of features across our ranges to minimise the risk to children and many of our blinds are fitted with quick release cord tassels which break apart and separate when pressure is applied to them. A warning tag which highlights the dangers to children will also supplied with every blind we fit.

If you would like to discuss the safety features included in the style of blinds you are interested in please feel free to contact us.

General Advice

  • Do not allow control cords or chains from blinds to hang too close to cots or bed, or to gather on the floor.
  • Do not allow cords or chains to hang free, they should be secured out of reach or cordless controls should be used.
  • Position furniture a safe distance from blinds to prevent young children from being able to reach them.
  • Never leave a child unsupervised in areas where there are potential safety hazards, even if safety devices have been installed.

Make it Safe

Make it SafeAs members of the British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA) Astley Bridge Blinds fully supports the BBSA’s “Make it safe” campaign. Child safety is always of paramount concern and the BBSA is urging homeowners and building users where children are present, to ensure they consider reducing potential risks associated with looped blind operating cords.
